This actually isn’t a book blog, but it’s one of the coolest blogs I’ve seen so it’s worth mentioning. It’s simply called Post Secret and it’s an ongoing community art project where people mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard. This is so neat and worth a journey over there to read what these people have sent in!

Today’s Cool Book Blog is…drumroll please…Book Cover Lovers! I love this blog. The moment I saw it, I immediately emailed the blogmeister – or in this case, the blogmeistress – and asked her if she’d host my authors and she said yes! So, I’m a little biased but she deserves my award.
These are the reasons I love Book Cover Lovers:
- Love the head banner. Fun, perky, inviting!
- Music. I know not everyone will agree with me, but that song is rockin’!
- Love the color scheme. Pink on black, baby!
- She’s linked to my blogs! This is a complete surprise, but Sheila, you’re the best!

I chose this blog to be my cool book blog of the day because I really loved the effort this woman put into her blog, not to mention her ingenuity. Her name is Sonya Worthy and she is from San Francisco, California. The name of her blog is simply called People Reading.
What Sonya does and what I find is a really neat idea is to go around and catch people reading. Once she sees a book in someone’s hand, she takes their picture and asks them questions: why they bought the book, if they liked it. I LOVE this idea.
Here’s what Sonya says her blog is all about:
This blog is my exploration of literary San Francisco and daily affirmation that people still read. While the Golden Gate Bridge and our hilly streets define our city’s physical landscape, I believe that the books we read are markers of our mental landscapes–the character of San Francisco. Pictures are taken the day of the posting in San Francisco, unless I say otherwise. I get rejected about 20% of the time and I respect the privacy of people who do not want to be on this site. Cell phones, iPods, and sudoku may continue to occupy the BART platforms, but books are everywhere, too. San Francisco, not surprisingly, is a very well read city. I don’t pretend to be well read myself–this blog is more of an attempt to live vicariously through others–though I do read and I’m very interested in why we read what we do and what makes a good book good.

Today’s Cool Book Blog is one of my favorite reviewing blogs. Tracee Gleichner’s Amateur de Livre offers book reviews and book giveaways. She’s also been very important to me in regards to hosting my clients on virtual book tours. Thank you, Tracee!
